Field Trip – King Mongkut University (Bangkok)
Evidence of Extracurricular Activities that Help Pupils Reach Their Full Potential
As a Robotics teacher, I aim to nurture curiosity, connect pupils with like‑minded innovators, and show what ambitious standards in robotics look like in the real world. On this field trip to King Mongkut University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB)—one of Thailand’s leading robotics hubs—students met university researchers and Thailand’s national Rescue Robots team (silver medal, 2023). They joined a master class, tried engaging games with robots built by university students, and saw cutting‑edge projects up close.
The experience was motivating and memorable. It encouraged pupils to set more challenging goals, try harder when creating with technology, and even consider future academic or career paths in engineering. For details, see the university write‑up: KMUTNB article.
Ownership & Independence
Activities on the trip were designed to promote pupil ownership and independence—students asked questions, evaluated demonstrations, and reflected on design choices.
Seeing real competition‑ready robots helped them understand how critical evaluation drives iteration and engineering excellence.
